Nikki Delport-Wepener, who has learned her embroidery skills from her mother as a child, has explored embroidery since then, the mother and daughter team, has practiced the craft creatively: they teach, make books and are consultants to the design field. Born in South Africa, Nikki has resided in Hong Kong since 2006. She has taken the opportunity to learn double-side silk embroidery in Suzhou, learned how to make qipao and also the fancy Chinese buttons.

We have invited Nikki to teach a 4 day intensive workshop, using her Pomegranate design, we will explore the many different stitches. We will draw embroidered textiles from Jinze Archive for study and comparison. Participants are welcome to bring embroideries for Nikki to answer your questions and to share for study. In the evening, you are free to practice your practice or join in casual discussion on the craft.
