Artist-In-Residence:
Who: Working Artists or Designers
The Artist-in-Residence programme provides an opportunity for artists from various countries to work in a unique and highly informative environment. JZAC provides accommodation and studio space on the Centre’s grounds for artistic work and thought.
The artist in residence will have access to JZAC’s collection and archive of over 5,000 items, requiring up to 20 hours of research and work per week.
JZAC sets an independent and creative tone for their work environment and it is the artist’s responsibility to develop their own work schedule. The artist-in-residency programme is ideal for those who seek a tranquil and stimulating space in which to research and create work.
You probably will want to list expectations and concrete research material, so people don’t just waste time here.
While expectations from participants will be discussed based on individual case, we hope the residency will increase awareness of their work throughout the broader creative community, both nationally and internationally.
JZAC Artists-in-Residency will be required to produce the following outcomes:
- A presentation of their added knowledge to the collection about specific pieces of their choice.
- A significant piece of research for publication, presentation, performance or exhibition.
- Research report and evaluation of residency.
- An exhibition of the artists’ work will be presented at JZAC at the end of the residency.
